The island of Sardinia (Sardegna in Italian) sits in the middle of the Mediterranean sea, 235km from Italy’s western mainland coast. For much of Italy’s history, Sardinia was removed from the often turbulant changes on the peninsula, allowing a distinct regional sub-culture to develop.
