Pelagie Islands
The Pelagie Islands (Isole Pelagie in Italian) are Italy’s southernmost archipelago, sitting right in the middle of the central Mediterranean between Sicily, Tunisia, and Malta. The main island of the group, Lampedusa, is one of my favourite locations in all of Italy, where you’ll find the country’s best beaches and clearest waters. The second inhabited island, Linosa, is one of the country’s most remote locations; while it requires some effort to reach, it is a haven for nature and wildlife that thrives on its volcanic landscape. The third island, Lampione, while uninhabited, is home to some of Italy’s best diving and is a mecca for underwater explorers.
”If we want things to stay as they are, things will have to change...

About The Italian Way
After visiting Italy for the first time in 2013, I’ve explored all 20 regions (and the Vatican, San Marino), lived in Veneto (2019-2021) and Rome (2021-present day), and have worked with Italian businesses from Venice to Naples and beyond.
Alongside my partner Sara I’ve spent the last decade getting to know the different sides of Italy and Italian life – find out more here:
